View Jose Enrique Armendariz-Inigo's profile on LinkedIn I was born in Pamplona (Navarra, Spain) (1-V-1976). I graduated in Telecommunication Engineer (2001), have a Master Degree (Diploma de Estudios Avanzados) (2003) and a PhD (2006) in Statistics, Mathematics and Informatics, all of them by the Universidad Pública de Navarra (UPNa). I started working as a technician for the GlobData European Research Project (2001-2002). I was involved in teaching activities since Academical Course 2002/2003 as a Part-Time Assistant Professor (Profesor Asociado TP) (2002) and a Lecturer (Profesor Ayudante) (2003-2006) in the Dpto. Matemática e Informática by UPNa until my one year leave to work for Instituto Tecnológico de Informática (ITI) as a researcher in the in the Sistemas Distribuidos (SiDi) research group. At the very moment (since June 2007), I am back in Pamplona, firstly as a Lecturer and now as a Temporary Associate Professor (Profesor Sustituto de la Docencia) as of October 2008, involved in teaching activities in the new Departamento de Ingeniería Matemática e Informática of UPNa. I am also a member of the Grupo de Sistemas Distribuidos (GSD) research group at UPNa. I participate and contribute to several national and international projects. My current research interests include fault-tolerant, group membership and communication systems, replicated databases and middleware architecture.

I have the chance to collaborate with a couple of research groups. I have done a research stay with Bettina Kemme at the School of Computer Science of the McGill University (Montréal, Québec, Canada) in the Distributed Information Systems Group. I also do collaborate with Rui Oliveira from Universidade do Minho (Braga, Portugal) at the Centro de Ciências e Tecnologias de Computação in the Grupo de Sistemas Distribuídos. Finally, I work hand in hand with several members of SiDi at ITI, the research group led by F.D. Muñoz-Escoí.
